Greg Keelor & Jim Bowskill announce Matinee To-day
Greg Keelor and Jim Bowskill announce their collaborative album, Matinee To-day, arriving November 13 on Keelor’s imprint Lost Cause, distributed by Warner Music Canada.
Across a collection of timeless country and folk songs, the two trade vocals and intertwine acoustic instruments with the easy rapport of old friends — songs by Willie P. Bennett, Bob Dylan, Gene Clark, Townes Van Zandt and Bruce Cockburn alongside traditional ballads and two Keelor originals. Produced by Keelor, Bowskill and longtime collaborator James McKenty, the sessions took place at Lost Cause, Greg’s farmhouse studio in the rolling Ontario countryside.
“That’s really what this record is,” Keelor says. “Two guys in a room, sharing songs, taking turns at the microphone, discovering new corners of old music.”
The album is heralded by “One Day I Walk,” a beautiful take on the Bruce Cockburn classic. Listen now, and pre-save Matinee To-day ahead of release.
